Jennifer Long

Jennifer Long is dedicated to meeting athletes where they are to help them grow, build confidence, and succeed both on and off the court. She strives to empower her players and foster a positive environment for development.

Coaching since 2012, this season marks her third season with Areté. Jennifer’s journey into coaching began after her own athletic career was cut short by a hip flexor tear in high school. She played volleyball at Allen High School but she ultimately chose basketball, but has always regretted not pursuing volleyball. When her daughter decided to play, Jennifer jumped at the chance to return to the sport she loves.

Outside of coaching, Jennifer works in financial crime, a career that provides an interesting contrast to her role as a coach. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her “zoo” (three dogs and a cat), hanging out with family and friends, or driving around in her Jeep with the top down and music blasting.
